HANDSTAND was formed in
Liverpool in 1993, a collaboration between director
Han Duijvendak and producer
Nicholas Stanley. The company grew out of the excitement created by
various actor-musician
theatre projects they were involved in throughout the 1980s. Since
then we have branched out successfully into
film & TV services,
project management and
development.
The philosophy is simple enough: to follow our passions, make things happen, and have fun along the way. The reality may not always be quite that simple, but that's the general idea. HANDSTAND's position astride a variety of art forms and activities is based on the foundation of the longstanding involvement and experience in theatre and film, administratively and creatively, of our personnel. At the root of everything we do is a fundamental interest in stories and people. |
